General Assistant ( Chelsham) - Full-time

We require a Full-time General Assistant to work in our Sundries Department, includes working alternative weekends with one day off each week, to work at our Chelsham Centre. Hours to be discussed at the interview.

 The Sundries Department area is a key part within the Garden Centre. The candidate will be part of the sales team on the shop floor; with the responsibility of merchandising our stock and assisting customers with their queries. This position requires frequent lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling of various goods.

 The role will involve, providing support across all departments, as required.

 Candidates must be customer focussed, self-motivated and hard working. Training will be provided.

 You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the sundries team with customer service

  • Give advice to our customers on various products

  • Help customers make their decisions and complete the sale

  • Working with the team to meet sales budgets, ensuring stock levels are maintained

  • Organising customer deliveries ensuring they are completed correctly and efficiently

  • Daily care of the sundries department including cleaning and ensuring merchandising material is correct and up-to-date

  • Providing support in other areas of the business when needed, especially at Christmas.

  • able to use their own initiative

Yard Operative (Chelsham ) - Full-time

We currently have a vacancy in our hard landscaping department at our Chelsham centre. This is a full-time position and includes alternate weekend working, with one day off each week.

 The successful applicant will be an essential part of our professional team and be able to demonstrate good retail ability, good customer service and organisational skills. Some experience of knowledge of hard landscaping materials would be an advantage, but is not essential. This is an outdoor role which requires someone to be physically fit. Heavy lifting is involved. You must be comfortable working in all weathers, be organised, and willing to be flexible.

 A fork lift license is preferable, but training can be provided.

Barista / Catering Assistant (Chelsham) - Full-time

Our Seasons Restaurant is looking for a full-time barista / catering assistant to join our fantastic team at an established garden centre restaurant. Minimum of 30 hours per week.

Candidates should have a passion for making new friends whilst delivering prompt, efficient service and have an eye for detail.

To become part of the Seasons team we need you to be friendly, polite and professional. You will also be eager to learn; we want our baristas to want to have the best reputation in the area. We would also like for you to be able to show your skills off by hand crafting top quality, individually made drinks. Experience is not essential as training on the job is given.

Working hours will include alternative weekends and Bank Holidays as required.

No split shifts! Social hours!

Plant Area Assistant (Woldingham) - Full-time

We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated person to join the plant team at our Woldingham Centre. The candidate must be outgoing and well presented, friendly, able to quickly build a good relationship with customers and enjoy the enthusiasm our customers have for gardening. A keen interest in horticulture and knowledge of plants is preferred and the ability to work as part of a team.

 Please note that due to the nature of the role that heavy lifting is required.

‪Duties will include:

· ‪Receiving and processing weekly deliveries of plants.

· Customer service and sales

· Helping customers with general gardening queries.

· ‪Maintaining plant displays and creating attractive new displays

· ‪Ensuring the retail space is presentable for customers

· ‪Stock management including watering of plants

· ‪Outdoor working required in all weather conditions, physically fit and able to handle heavy stock.

 Training and support will be given to assist the candidate in developing their knowledge of plants and plant care.

 ‪Working hours will include alternative weekends and Bank Holidays as required.

A uniform will be provided.
