BREAKFAST WITH SANTA HERALDED A GREAT SUCCESS

Knights were delighted to welcome Santa who had breakfast with his young supporters during December at Chelsham and Woldingham. Amid a riot of noise and excitement Santa talked with our young guests, finally presenting a gift to each child before departing to embark on another day of seeing his pals in his grotto.

Santa has promised to return for breakfast next year.  Our friends in Rotary tell us he would like to visit for breakfast more often in the run up to Christmas 2009. Watch our website and newsletter for advanced warning of the dates of his visits.

KNIGHTS BAGS BRITAINS BEST GARDEN RETAILER AWARD

Knights Garden Centres Woldingham and Chelsham have been awarded the prestigious 'Silver' Garden Retailer of the Year Award by DIY Week, the trade and gardening magazine. This award is presented to the garden retailer who can 'outshine the rest' across the United Kingdom. Facing stiff opposition this local, family run business has proved that size is not everything in the struggle to be the best retailer in the U.K.

General Manager, Duncan Knight  said "At Knights Garden Centres we are proud of having friendly, professional and well trained staff who provide an extremely high level of service to all of our customers. Without doubt our staff have played a major part in the achievement of this award. I would like to thank them all for their continued hard work and support".

  REINDEER DAY

In spite of the weather the Reindeer arrived at Knights this weekend (29th and 30th November), and hundreds of our visitors came to officially wlecome the herd at both Chelsham and Woldingham.

Again the huskies came to town and many of our excited smaller visitors were delighted to meet and greet Santa's favourite animals. The weekend was a great success and Father Christmas was delighted to be with us once again.

  FATHER CHRISTMAS ARRIVES BY HELICOPTER

Knights welcomed Father Christmas to our shores on Saturday 15th December when his helicopter touched down opposite the Garden Centre. Our smaller visitors were delighted to see their favourite seasonal friend arriving safely, and many were treated to a visit to see the great man in his grotto.

  COOKERY KELONG STYLE

Members of the public sat enthralled by Tom Ho Master Chef's cookery demonstration held at the Dene in Woldingham on 13th November.  Knights played host to the Kelong's owner and chef who demonstrated skills, gave tips and answered questions before providing an excellent meal for all the attendees. The event raised £180.00 for Knight's charity of the year the Parkinson's Disease Society. If you missed out this time, Tom will return to Knights in the New Year - look out for our newsletter and on our website for more details about his return. We thank Tom and all those who attended for their generous support for our charity.

If you missed the superb food or enjoyed what you tasted so much, why not visit the Kelong Restaurant, in Selsdon Road, South Croydon.
