MARCH

• Cut lawn, rake out debris and apply feed
• Sow summer bedding in the greenhouse
• Return pump to pond and re-pot marginals
• Buy seed potatoes and leave to sprout
• Plant early potato varieties from the end of the month
• Prune roses and feed them
• Put out onion sets and shallots

 APRIL

• Train your Clematis so the shoots spread widely giving more cover for a better display
• Spring bulbs will start to die.  Feed them for an even better display next year
• Annual seeds can be sown in the open garden, especially after a good downpour
• In the greenhouse sow summer bedding and tomatoes
• Sprouts, summer cauliflower and cabbage are best sown into a seed bed before transplanting in May
• Apply general plant food like Vitax around the fruit bushes, trees and strawberry plants
